Women Future Chicken Farming Academy (WFCFA)

Empowering Women with Chicken Yards is an exciting project that focuses on empowering women through training in chicken farming and vegetable cultivation. Our academy provides women with the necessary knowledge and skills to run a sustainable chicken business.

After completing the training and graduating from the academy, we offer participants the opportunity to borrow a small chicken coop and ten day-old chicks. As the chicks grow up and are treated responsibly, the women repay us with two adult chickens, making them owners of both the chicken coop and the remaining eight chickens.

In addition to chicken farming, women learn to use chicken manure as fertilizer to grow vegetables. These vegetables can be sold for income or used as feed for the next generation of chickens. We also support women with chicken feed for the first month and assist them with feed for the new chickens in the second month, as well as giving them seeds for vegetables to encourage vegetable self-cultivation.

This project provides women with their own income opportunities and increases their power and influence. We believe in promoting equality and contributing to positive change in the Mafia islands through increased economic independence.
